Current Projects Online Capacity Building Platform – DestiMED Plus Project DestiMED Plus is a capitalization project in the Interreg MED Sustainable Tourism Community, led by a partnership of national and regional authorities, and conservation, advocacy, research organisations. TrainingAid supports the DestiMED Plus project as consultants, focused on providing advice and supporting research and development related to online capacity building, promoting the application of the MEET (Mediterranean Experience of Ecotourism) / DestiMED methodology to protected area destinations in the region, as well as to regional tourism stakeholders. Past Projects PM4SD for National Tourism Organisations: NTO Sustainable Tourism Management Models TrainingAid provided technical support to develop, manage and deliver a tailored online training course (May - June 2020) of the Project Management for Sustainable Development program for a group of national tourism organisations (NTOs) that are members of the European Travel Commission, including destination managers from Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Portugal and more. In addition to hosting and facilitating the course, TrainingAid provided services in coordinating with and managing trainers and expert contributors before, during and after the course. UNDP Armenia Integrated Rural Tourism Development (IRTD) Project TrainingAid provided technical support to develop, manage and deliver a tailored online courses in 2018 and 2019, covering the Project Management for Sustainable Development (PM4SD) methodology and sustainable tourism management best practices. The courses were attended by project managers and officers from across Armenia, working for the UNDP Armenia's Integrated Rural Tourism Development Project, with the long-term objectives of creating sustainable income-generating opportunities to reduce rural poverty, and to empower community members to achieve sustainable development. Black Sea Sustainable Rural Tourism Program The Black Sea Sustainable Rural Tourism Program is an integrated rural tourism initiative focused on the sustainable development of community tourism in the Black Sea Region. The program is led Vesselka Consulting Ltd., and works with members from Ukraine, Turkey and Georgia, aiming to unify rural destinations in the region through common standards, values and interests; and to contribute to the economic, cultural and social developments of participating communities. TrainingAid has supported the process of the program's website, helping engage tourism stakeholders and promote sustainable tourism in the region. Wild Asia Responsible Tourism Initiative Responsible Tourism Leaders Series As part of the 10-year anniversary of WildAsia's Responsible Tourism Awards program, the 2016 "Wild Asia Responsible Tourism Leaders Series" featured diverse stories of successes, challenges, impacts and insights from Asia’s top responsible tourism leaders. TrainingAid supported the development and execution of a 3-part webinar series sharing best practice examples of past award winners, including EXO Travel, PEPY Tours (Cambodia), The Blue Yonder (India), Soneva Resorts and Soneva Foundation (Thailand, the Maldives) and El Nido Resorts (Philippines).
