India
Ever since she joined RARE India in 2018, Shobhana Jain has been instrumental in driving the sustainability practices projects of the RARE Community. She has spearheaded the Pinwheel Project, which re-looks at destinations through the lens of sustainability and community engagement in an endeavour to inspire people to promote sustainable travel and rethinking destinations.
Moreover, Shobhana, who underwent GSTC training, has been one of the key contributors towards establishing the 10 responsible tourism touchstones of the RARE Community. Her focus is on building a sustainability collective not just with the RARE Community, but with other travel related stakeholders as well, where there can be cross fertilizations of best practices.
A key initiative is the annual BRIDGES by RARE event held in New Delhi that brings together like minded hotels and experiences, the travel trade community, and pioneering leaders in sustainability for conversations and ideation on responsible tourism.
