Empowering Hotels on Environmental Footprint Management

TrainingAid is working with HRS to support the Green Stay Initiative (GSI), which support hotels with environmental footprint metrics and transparent measurement and reporting tools, allowing for transparent comparison of sustainability data to empower corporate travelers.

Supported by major hotel chains around the world, as well as key corporate partners that are prioritizing suppliers with traceable sustainability practices, GSI encourages hotels to assess and report on their footprint, and to work towards reduction targets around carbon emissions, water and waste management.

Educational solutions developed so far through the initial project phases include:

• Public and internal educational webinars covering key topics related to the urgent climate-related sustainability objectives in the business travel sector, and key steps for hospitality businesses to effectively respond to the changing needs of their corporate partners. 
• Recorded video interviews and lessons focused on the specific Green Stay criteria requirements addressing supply chain management, staff engagement and sustainability performance management.
• Presentations featuring real-life examples of hotels implementing good practices in sustainability management.

We look forward to continuing collaborating with HRS to help more hotel partners understand and get more actively engaged in the GSI, and share practical insights into how to implement key sustainability steps for hotels.

Using normalized sustainability data, corporate clients can steer their business travel programs in line with their sustainability targets. Participating in Green Stay is free of charge to all HRS hotel partners.
